Islamabad: In a continuing effort to support the families of its fallen officers, the Punjab Police, under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, has provided a new home to the family of Constable Shehryar Baig Shaheed, who was killed in the line of duty earlier this year.
According to Punjab Police, the house, located in Gulberg Colony of Dera Ghazi Khan, was handed over to the late constable’s wife and daughter. The residence, a 5-marla property valued at 13.5 million rupees, was acquired following the preferences of the family. Constable Baig lost his life during a confrontation with criminals at Police Station Kot Mubarak in February.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, during the house presentation ceremony, paid homage to Constable Baig’s bravery and sacrifice, emphasizing the department’s commitment to the welfare of over 1,650 martyred officers’ families and 1,700 wounded veterans. He affirmed that such initiatives are a key priority for the Punjab Police, underscoring ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of the families of those who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
