Lahore: The Punjab Police has announced the promotion of 73 employees within its Special Branch, marking the final promotions of the year under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. The promotion board meeting, held in the Special Branch, evaluated 76 candidates for advancement to higher ranks. Officers from various sections, including Explosive Detection, Surveillance, Canine, and Information Technology, were among those promoted.
According to Punjab Police, the promotions spanned various levels, with technical officers advancing to Assistant Directors and Supervisors moving up to Technical Officers. Other promotions included Assistant Supervisors to Supervisors, Senior Operators to Assistant Supervisors, and Operators to Senior Operators. Additionally, Canine Handlers were promoted to Senior Canine Handlers. The breakdown of promotions includes 10 Supervisors, 14 Assistant Supervisors, 15 Senior Operators, 10 Operators, 14 Canine Handlers, one Network Supervisor, and nine Data Entry Operators.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar extended his congratulations to the newly promoted officials and assured that the promotion process will continue into the next year. A board meeting scheduled for January 2 will consider the promotion of Inspectors to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank. Dr. Anwar emphasized that a comprehensive Service and Promotion Structure has been established within the Police Force, urging the promoted personnel to provide exemplary service and protection to the citizens of Pakistan.
