Punjab Police Partners with Private Hospital to Boost Healthcare Access for Officers and Families

Lahore: In a significant move to enhance the health welfare of its personnel, the Punjab Police has partnered with Hameed Latif Hospital to provide discounted medical services to its force and their families. This initiative, marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU), underscores the department’s commitment to the well-being of its members and their dependents.

According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 11 October 2024, the MOU was signed at a ceremony in the Central Police Office by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, and Haroon Latif Khan, Managing Director of Hameed Latif Hospital. The agreement stipulates that police employees and their families will receive discounts ranging from 15 to 27 percent on various medical expenses, with the families of police martyrs receiving the highest discount rate of 27 percent on outpatient department (OPD) services.

Dr. Usman Anwar expressed his appreciation for the hospital’s collaboration, noting the importance of accessible quality healthcare for police officers who often face challenging working conditions. The MOU covers a broad range of medical services, including specialized care at the Lahore Institute of Fertility and Endocrinology Centre, where police employees will receive a 25 percent discount.

The partnership is part of a broader public-private collaboration aimed at providing top-tier medical facilities to deserving police employees. Haroon Latif Khan of Hameed Latif Hospital praised the sacrifices and services of the Punjab Police, particularly their efforts in maintaining law and order and combating terrorism.

The ceremony also highlighted the cultural appreciation between the two organizations, with Dr. Anwar presenting a book titled “Thane Punjab De,” which details the upgrades of police stations in Punjab, to Khan. The event was attended by senior officials from both the Punjab Police and Hameed Latif Hospital, including Chief Operating Officer Dr. Hassan Khan and Medical Director Adnan Abdul Majid, emphasizing the mutual commitment to this welfare initiative.
