Punjab Police Partners with Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy to Promote Hockey

Lahore, In a significant move to promote sports and constructive activities, the Punjab Police have partnered with Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to encourage and mentor young hockey athletes.

According to Punjab Police, the MoU was signed in a ceremony at the Central Police Office, with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and hockey legend Khawaja Junaid ratifying the agreement. This partnership aims to foster the sport of hockey among children associated with the Punjab Police.

Under the terms of the MoU, both Punjab Police and Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy will collaboratively work towards the promotion of hockey. They will provide necessary equipment, training, and mentoring to young players engaged in the sport. Dr. Usman Anwar noted that the Academy would offer hockey equipment and free coaching to children of police employees. Additionally, sports camps will be organized for selecting and training promising hockey players, where they will receive specialized coaching.

The MoU also encompasses the organization of hockey-related events, workshops, and training programs. The Punjab Police will appoint a focal person for effective coordination with Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy.

IG Punjab highlighted the recent achievements of Punjab Police in sports, mentioning the 14 medals won at the National Games. He expressed commitment to accelerating measures for the patronage of all sports, including hockey, alongside providing necessary facilities.

Khawaja Junaid hailed the MoU as a positive step for the future of hockey, expressing enthusiasm about jointly organizing hockey competitions, workshops, and training programs with Punjab Police. He emphasized that this collaboration would help groom new hockey talent and prepare a batch of players for the future.

The event was also attended by DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salah-ud-din, AIG Admin Sahibzada Bilal Umar, AIG Operations Dr. Asad Ejaz Malhi, and SDPO Gulberg ASP Syeda Shaherbano.
