Islamabad, The World Police Summit has selected two officers from the Punjab Police, MD Punjab Safe Cities Authority DIG Ahsan Younas and DPO Vehari Muhammad Essa Khan, for prestigious international police awards, marking a significant international honor for the Pakistani police force.
According to Punjab Police, the officers were chosen among contenders from 180 countries for their exceptional performance in various categories. The selection process involved rigorous scrutiny, culminating in the shortlisting of these two officers from Punjab Police. DIG Ahsan Younas and DPO Muhammad Essa Khan have been invited to attend the award ceremony in Dubai, where they will be honored for their contributions.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the officers for bringing global recognition to the Punjab Police. He highlighted DIG Ahsan Younas’s significant role in digitalizing the Punjab Police and implementing IT reforms, as well as expanding the scope of Safe Cities. DPO Muhammad Issa Khan was recognized for his impactful work in community policing, drug eradication, and establishing drug-free educational institutions.
Moreover, DPO Khan’s contributions include creating a comprehensive public awareness system against drugs, establishing a hospital, rehabilitating drug addicts, and facilitating their reintegration into society through employment opportunities. The International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) has also selected seven officers of the Punjab Police to participate in the World Police Summit, where SDPO Gulberg ASP Syeda Shaherbano will present on Police Tahaffuz Marakaz, initiatives for transgender welfare, and police public service projects.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the selection of these officers for the World Police Summit Awards is a source of pride for the Pakistan Police Service, reflecting the high standards and dedication of the force.
