Punjab Police Neutralizes Notorious Dacoit in Rahim Yar Khan

Rahim Yar Khan: In a strategic operation targeting criminal activities in the Kacha region, the Punjab Police successfully neutralized a high-profile dacoit, marking a significant achievement in their ongoing campaign against organized crime.

According to Punjab Police, the incident occurred when law enforcement foiled a robbery attempt by a group of dacoits, leading to the death of Farooq Chandia, a resident of Sindh. The confrontation began when the dacoits attacked the residence of Abdul Rashid Abbasi with the intent to rob. Upon receiving a tip-off, a well-equipped police team engaged the criminals, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Chandia was killed during the confrontation, while his accomplices managed to flee.

Chandia was wanted by authorities in both Sindh and Punjab for serious offenses, including murder, robbery, and kidnapping for ransom. Police recovered a Kalashnikov and a substantial amount of ammunition from his possession. Following the encounter, a large-scale search operation was launched in the area involving the SHO Bhong, Kot Sabzal, CIA team leaders, Elite Commandos, and numerous police personnel.

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal and the police team for their effective action and the elimination of a dangerous criminal from the region.
