Rahim Yar Khan: In a significant crackdown following directives from Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police successfully neutralized three dangerous bandits during a targeted operation in the Kacha area of Rahim Yar Khan. The operation, which involved an intense exchange of gunfire, resulted in the deaths of known criminals Qadir Bakhsh Dashti, Diloosh Dashti, and Niaz Bakhrani.
According to Punjab Police, the confrontation occurred in Kacha Bhong, where the police, led by DSP Bhong and including officers such as SHO Bhong Naveed Wahla and CIA Sadiqabad in-charge Saifullah Malhi, engaged the bandits. The operation also involved elite teams and a substantial police contingent. Following the shootout, a search operation was initiated in the sugarcane fields where accomplices of the deceased bandits had reportedly fled.
Weapons, including Kalashnikovs and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, were recovered from the deceased. The operation was part of a broader strategy to curb criminal activities in the region, which had previously been a safe haven for various criminal elements.
IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal and the teams involved for their courage and effectiveness in executing the operation. This success underscores the ongoing commitment of Punjab Police to restore law and order in the region’s more challenging terrains.
