Punjab Police Leadership Criticizes Delays in Court Case Processing

Lahore: In a significant meeting held via video link at the Central Police Office, Additional IG Investigation Punjab Muhammad Idrees Ahmad voiced his dissatisfaction with the delays in submitting case challans to the court, underscoring a need for improved efficiency in legal proceedings.

According to Punjab Police, the conference included various high-ranking officers such as CPOs, DPOs, SSPs, and SPs Investigation from across the province, along with DIG Legal Awais Malik, DSP Legal Qadeer Anwar, DSP Legal Arslan Saif, DSP Monitoring Sheikh Muzaffar Akram, and In-charge CDR Sumiya Khan. The assembly focused on the execution of high court orders concerning pending challans.

Muhammad Idrees Ahmad sternly addressed the issue of procrastination in court submissions and mandated all SSPs Investigation to enhance their supervisory roles to ensure challans are submitted within 17 days as required. He stressed that CPOs and DPOs must ensure they are overseeing the implementation of court orders and resolving pending challans promptly. Additionally, he directed that any officer failing to meet these deadlines must submit a written explanation detailing the reasons for their delay. Ahmad’s directives included an immediate clearance of all pending challans and the issuance of corresponding certificates.
