Lahore: In an extensive crackdown on the drug trade, Punjab Police conducted 1,369 raids on drug dealers’ hideouts across the province over the past week, resulting in the arrest of 867 individuals, according to a spokesperson. The initiative is part of the Drug-Free Punjab vision spearheaded by Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar.

During the operations, authorities confiscated substantial quantities of narcotics, including 439 kilograms of charas, 29 kilograms of crystal meth, and 44 kilograms of heroin. Additionally, 8,636 liters of liquor were also seized. The police have registered cases against those apprehended.

Dr. Anwar has instructed law enforcement to intensify efforts against drug dealers and dismantle supply chains, particularly targeting those engaged in online drug transactions. There is a special focus on intelligence-based operations surrounding educational institutions and hostels to curb drug activities in these areas.

The police department remains committed to eradicating drug-related activities in the province through ongoing and future operations.
