Lahore: In a significant push to enhance public access to police services, the Punjab Police Khidmat Marakaz, under the directive of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, have provided digital services to more than 1.692 million citizens across the province in the first eight months of the year. These state-of-the-art centers are part of a broader initiative to streamline and modernize police interactions with the public.
According to Punjab Police, the services offered through the Khidmat Marakaz cover a wide range of police-related needs. Detailed figures reveal that more than 472,000 citizens obtained police character certificates and over 776,000 received general police verifications. Additionally, 4,123 private employee police verifications were completed. The centers have also facilitated the registration of over 112,000 tenancy agreements, more than 17,000 vehicle verifications, and the issuance of over 107,000 medico-legal certificates. Moreover, more than 53,000 citizens registered loss of document reports, while 3,611 reported crimes. Over 72,000 citizens received copies of FIRs, and 138 cases of violence against women were registered. In support of vulnerable groups, legal and social protection services were provided to more than 59,000 individuals, and 1,219 citizens registered employees under the ROPE program.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the importance of the Khidmat Marakaz, noting their role in delivering efficient and effective services to millions of citizens each month. He also expressed the commitment to further enhance the performance of these centers to better serve the public.
