Lahore: The Punjab Police Khidmat Centers, under the directive of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, have provided digital policing services to more than 1.4 million citizens across various districts in the first seven months of this year.
According to Punjab Police, these centers offer a broad range of services, including issuing character certificates, conducting general police verifications, and more. From January to July, over 407,000 citizens received character certificates, and around 704,000 underwent general police verification. Additionally, 3,932 private employee verifications were processed. The centers also facilitated over 102,000 tenancy agreements and verified about 15,000 vehicles. Other services provided included issuing more than 94,000 medicolegal certificates, registering approximately 45,000 missing documents, and filing 2,820 crime reports. Furthermore, 63,543 citizens received copies of FIRs, and 77 women filed violence reports.
Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted the success of the Khidmat Centers, describing them as a key initiative in enhancing service delivery and legal protection for vulnerable groups. The centers have also provided social protection services to over 36,000 individuals and handled employee registration for 640 citizens. The IG Punjab emphasized the intention to further enhance the performance and reach of these centers in the coming months.
