Punjab Police Investigate Horrific Crime as Woman Allegedly Killed by In-Laws

Jatoi, In a shocking incident reported in Basti Bulaili Mouza Jungle Tehsil Jatoi, a woman was allegedly set on fire by her in-laws, leading to her death. The Punjab Police have launched an investigation into the killing of Samina Bibi, who was reportedly doused in petrol and burned by her husband and other family members after being severely tortured.

According to Punjab Police, the horrifying act occurred last night and has led to a swift response from law enforcement. A case has been registered against the woman’s husband, father-in-law, and three brothers-in-law following a complaint by the victim’s brother, Wajid Iqbal. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has taken a personal interest in the case, directing the District Police Officer of Muzaffargarh to personally oversee the investigation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

Initial actions have included the arrest of the victim’s husband, Asif, as police conduct raids to apprehend other suspects involved in the crime. The Regional Police Officer of Dera Ghazi Khan division and other senior officials have been instructed to utilize forensic teams and conduct the investigation on scientific grounds to gather all necessary evidence.

The police leadership has expressed a zero-tolerance policy towards violence against women and has committed to prioritizing measures to provide justice for the victim’s family, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the need for swift and thorough legal action.
