Punjab Police Intensifies Operations Under Chief Minister’s Safe Punjab Vision

Lahore: In response to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directive under the Safe Punjab Vision, Punjab Police have ramped up their search and combing operations across the province to clamp down on terrorist activities and criminal behavior. This intensified effort aims to ensure the safety and security of the public by actively suppressing threats from anti-social elements.

According to Punjab Police, the ongoing operations align with the government’s commitment to establish peace and order. Over the past 24 hours, police forces have carried out 338 search and combing operations province-wide, scrutinizing 8,598 individuals and detaining 23 suspects linked to various criminal activities. Since the inception of this specialized campaign in February, there have been 18,584 such operations. These extensive efforts have resulted in the questioning of more than 597,000 individuals, the detention of 5,399 suspects, and the recovery of 112 pistols, 16 rifles, and 11 shotguns.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken a proactive role by instructing all supervisory officers to enhance the scope and frequency of these operations. He has specifically highlighted the importance of daily operations at sensitive sites such as educational institutions, bus stations, hotels, and inns. Dr. Anwar’s directives also emphasize the need to apprehend and duly process those involved in illegal activities to maintain law and order within the region.
