Punjab Police Intensifies Efforts to Resolve Pending Cases


Lahore, In a strategic move to enhance the efficiency of criminal investigations, Additional IG Investigation Punjab, Muhammad Idrees Ahmad, has called for an acceleration in the resolution of pending cases through improved collaboration with the Prosecution Department. This directive was issued during a pivotal meeting at the Central Police Office, emphasizing the need for swift justice and meticulous investigative processes.



According to Punjab Police, the meeting, attended by senior investigation officers across Punjab via video link, involved a comprehensive evaluation of the ongoing investigations and pending legal proceedings. Additional IG Ahmad scrutinized the performance of various district police officers, focusing on the resolution rate of cases that have remained unresolved over the past decade.



In his directives, Additional IG Ahmad stressed the importance of leveraging modern technology and forensic science in investigating serious crimes, urging senior police officials to oversee investigations personally to ensure expedited and thorough case resolutions. He emphasized the necessity of enhancing performance based on merit and professionalism and announced that the outcomes of these efforts would be evaluated in the upcoming month.



The meeting also highlighted the imperative to diligently pursue justice in heinous crime cases, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable.
