Punjab Police Intensifies Crime and Smog Control Measures in Faisalabad Region

Lahore: The Central Police Office hosted a video link meeting coordinated by Additional IG Operations Punjab, Shahzada Sultan, focusing on the Faisalabad region’s law enforcement strategies. The session was part of a broader initiative led by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to enhance police performance through the “Key Performance Indicators” system.

According to Punjab Police, the meeting aimed to address various public safety concerns, including the acceleration of intelligence-based operations to tackle drug-related issues and the intensification of efforts against organized crime and illegal weapons. Additional IG Shahzada Sultan highlighted the necessity of resolving complaints lodged at the 1787 complaint center promptly and stressed the importance of collaboration with district administrations to combat encroachments and reduce smog levels.

Further directives were issued to augment the issuance of driving licenses and to improve the provision of digital services at police service centers. The agenda also covered the enhancement of hardcore policing, effective traffic management, and the performance of police service centers. Topics such as the progress of FIR registrations, crime control, investigation procedures, anti-drug trafficking measures, law and order management, and the resolution of public grievances were thoroughly reviewed.

The meeting was attended by key regional and traffic police officers including RPO Faisalabad Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, CPOs, DPOs from Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, and Jhang, connected via video link. DIG IAB Ameen Bukhari, AIG Operations Zahid Nawaz Marwat, AIG Complaints Ehsan Ullah Chohan, and other relevant officers were present to discuss the protection of women and vulnerable communities, administrative issues, grievance redressal, security, and service delivery.
