LAHORE: Punjab Police’s campaign to deport illegally residing foreign nationals is in full swing, according to IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. Authorities have deported 9,809 individuals from across the province, including Lahore, as part of the ongoing efforts.

The police have also relocated over 10,357 individuals to holding centers, with 548 still present at these locations, Dr. Anwar stated. The campaign is supported by five holding centers in Lahore and 46 throughout the province.

Dr. Anwar emphasized that the deportation policy aligns with international laws and is being monitored by the federal government and intelligence agencies. The campaign aims to ensure the evacuation of all illegally residing individuals while maintaining heightened security measures.

The IG Punjab assured that human rights are being respected during the deportation process. He instructed CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs to expedite the expulsion of illegal foreign residents. The identification of these individuals is being conducted through collaboration with the Special Branch, CTD, security agencies, and intelligence-based sources.
