Punjab Police Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Dealers During Eid-ul-Adha

Lahore: In a concerted effort to curb drug trafficking, Punjab Police launched a series of raids during the Eid-ul-Adha holiday, resulting in the arrest of 110 drug dealers across the province.

The extensive operation encompassed 223 raids on drug dealers’ hideouts, according to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police. The crackdown led to the recovery of significant quantities of narcotics, including 23 kilograms of charas, 4 kilograms of ice, 2,950 liters of liquor, and 1 kilogram of heroin.

This initiative was spearheaded by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, who has called for intensified operations against drug dealers and smugglers. He emphasized the need for all individuals involved in the drug supply chain to face justice and receive strict punishments.

Dr. Anwar also highlighted the importance of targeting drug peddling activities around educational institutions and hostels, instructing law enforcement to increase vigilance in these areas. The ongoing efforts reflect the Punjab Police’s commitment to eradicating drug-related crime in the province.
