Lahore: Punjab Police have intensified efforts to dismantle criminal gangs and recover stolen property across the province under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar. The ongoing mission aims to suppress dangerous criminal activities in all districts, including the provincial capital, Lahore.
According to Punjab Police, the force has managed to dismantle 6,065 gangs involved in serious crimes this year and has arrested 15,136 gang members throughout the province. The operations have led to the recovery of stolen properties worth over 6.44 billion rupees, including 1,729 vehicles, 17,038 motorcycles, 2,356 tolas of gold, 10,594 mobile phones, and 5,697 livestock. Additionally, more than 6.36 billion rupees in cash has been seized from criminals involved in various offenses.
In Lahore alone, police dismantled 3,388 gangs and apprehended 7,794 criminals. Recoveries in the city included stolen goods valued at over 2.275 billion rupees, comprising 943 vehicles, 5,641 motorcycles, 5,414 mobile phones, 207 tolas of gold, and 125 livestock.
Inspector General Anwar has praised the police teams for their work in tackling dangerous gangs and has directed them to increase intelligence-based operations against organized crimes. He stressed the importance of bringing professional criminals involved in serious offenses to justice.
