Punjab Police Heighten Security as Christian Services Proceed Across Lahore

LAHORE: In response to directives from the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police maintained heightened security as Christian worship and prayer services unfolded in churches across Lahore and the larger province. The police force executed its duties with diligence, ensuring the safety of congregants and religious sites.

Dr. Anwar had previously instructed all Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to strengthen security measures for churches. He mandated that supervisory officers personally oversee the security protocols at these religious institutions and other key locations.

In compliance with the directives, additional police personnel and snipers were stationed at churches deemed sensitive. Patrols by the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force teams were intensified to enhance church perimeter security.

The police officers and personnel on duty were advised to remain vigilant, keeping a keen eye on any suspicious activities. Comprehensive search and sweep operations were conducted around churches, Christian neighborhoods, and other sensitive areas to uphold law and order.

Dr. Anwar also underscored the importance of fostering interfaith harmony. He called upon religious scholars, Christian community members, and peace committees to play an active role in promoting unity among different faiths.

The Punjab Police’s efforts reflect a commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, highlighting the importance of collaboration and vigilance in maintaining societal peace.
