Punjab Police Extradite Fugitive from Spain in Kidnapping and Murder Case

Lahore, In a significant law enforcement success, Punjab Police have extradited a dangerous fugitive from Spain, wanted for kidnapping and murder, under a continued crackdown on criminals fleeing overseas.

According to Punjab Police, under the direction of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the Special Operation Cell has intensified efforts to apprehend criminals absconding abroad. This operation led to the arrest of Saad Tanveer, who had been sought by Gujranwala police for over a year following his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a citizen named Jabran in 2023. After fleeing to Spain, Tanveer was apprehended following the issuance of a red notice by Interpol and was recently brought back to Pakistan by a police team led by Inspector Khalid Wariah.

The spokesman for Punjab Police highlighted that with Tanveer’s extradition, the total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from foreign countries this year has reached 48. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has praised the efforts of CPO Gujranwala Rana Ayaz Saleem and his team for their role in capturing the fugitive and has urged the Special Operation Cell to further accelerate their efforts to arrest additional offenders involved in serious crimes, in cooperation with Interpol and the Federal Investigation Agency.
