According to Punjab Police, the heightened security strategy involves bolstering police presence and patrolling near markets, religious sites, and other sensitive areas. The deployment includes a significant number of officers, youths, and volunteers to ensure stringent security at mosques, imambargahs, and shrines, with explicit instructions to conduct thorough checks on individuals entering these premises.
IG Punjab emphasized the importance of collaboration with local communities to facilitate the peaceful observance of Ramadan, asserting that any disruptive or malicious entities would face strict consequences. The orders also extend to meticulous vehicle inspections and the continuation of intelligence-based operations targeting criminal elements.
Moreover, specialized police units such as the Dolphin Squad, Peru, and Elite teams have been tasked with intensified patrols during key times such as Suhr, Iftar, and Taraweeh, leveraging Safe City cameras for comprehensive monitoring to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the sanctity and safety of religious observances during this holy month.
