Lahore: An essential video link meeting chaired by Additional IG Investigation Punjab, Muhammad Idrees, at the Central Police Office, focused on improving the arrest rates of A-category fugitives and enhancing the investigation of cases related to women and children.
According to Punjab Police, the meeting saw participation from senior police officials, including AIG Monitoring Punjab and DSP Monitoring Punjab. The discussion centered on refining performance metrics for provincial investigation in-charges and addressing the handling of severe criminal cases in 2023. Muhammad Idrees emphasized the importance of victim support and the thorough investigation of heinous crimes, stating that senior police officials should personally visit crime scenes.
The meeting also highlighted the completion of 15 refresher courses by the Training Branch, which have upskilled 17,435 investigating officers. Muhammad Idrees outlined directives for evidence preservation, swift case resolutions, and improving overall police responsiveness, including surprise visits to various districts to oversee and enhance field operations.
