Lahore: The Punjab Police Department has issued a corrigendum regarding the minority quota for recruitment to assistant positions, correcting previously stated figures in two separate advertisements. Adjustments have been made to reflect accurate quotas for minority candidates in the department’s hiring process.
According to Public Service Commission Punjab, the correction pertains to Advertisement No. 05/2020 and Advertisement No. 23/2024. The earlier advertisement, published on February 2, 2020, for 48 assistant positions had initially stated incorrect minority quota figures. The correct minority quota for these positions is now set at two. Similarly, the advertisement published on September 20, 2024, for 102 assistant positions had inaccurately listed minority quotas, which have been corrected to five.
The revised details for Advertisement No. 05/2020 outline the distribution as 39 posts for open merit, two for minority quota, and seven for the women quota. For Advertisement No. 23/2024, the allocation is 74 posts for open merit, five for minority quota, five for special persons, and 18 for women.
