Punjab Police Crack Down on Drug Trade with 231 Raids Across Province

Lahore: In a significant move to combat the drug trade, Punjab Police intensified their anti-narcotics operations across the province, conducting 231 raids on drug dealers’ hideouts within a 24-hour period. These efforts led to the arrest of 128 drug peddlers, according to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police.

The operations are part of the ongoing Drug-Free Punjab campaign, which aims to dismantle the drug trade network within the region. The police reported the seizure of 68 kilograms of cannabis, 5 kilograms of heroin, 5 kilograms of crystal meth, and 1,486 liters of liquor.

The Inspector General of Punjab Police has ordered the continuation of these operations with increased vigor, focusing on bringing all parties involved in drug trafficking to justice. The directive also includes a specific emphasis on targeting drug activities near educational institutions and hostels.

These actions reflect a commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade and ensuring that those responsible face legal consequences.
