Lahore: Punjab Police have ramped up their intelligence-based operations across the province, yielding significant results in the past 24 hours. According to a police spokesperson, 468 combing operations were conducted, resulting in 47 arrests and the questioning of 15,500 suspects.
These operations included 41 search and sweep efforts, during which 3,368 individuals were questioned and four suspects detained. Authorities also apprehended 137 proclaimed offenders, 74 court absconders, and 45 habitual criminals. A substantial cache of illegal weapons and ammunition was confiscated.
The Inspector General of Punjab has emphasized the need to intensify operations against those involved in serious crimes. Mock exercises are underway to bolster the police’s preparedness against terrorism and criminal activities.
Collaborative efforts include teams from the Counter Terrorism Department, Special Branch, Elite Force, Rescue 1122, and other agencies. The ongoing operations highlight Punjab Police’s commitment to enhancing security across the region.
