Lahore, Marking the seventh anniversary of the tragic Faisal Chowk Mall Road terrorist blast, the Punjab Police paid homage to the valor and sacrifice of its fallen heroes, including DIG Captain (retd) Syed Ahmad Mobeen and SSP Zahid Gondal, among others. This solemn remembrance underscores the relentless bravery and the ultimate sacrifice made by these officers in the line of duty, reflecting their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens.
According to Punjab Police, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, expressed profound respect and recommitment to the memory of all martyrs of the Punjab Police, particularly those lost in the Faisal Chowk Mall Road blast on February 13, 2017. Dr. Anwar emphasized that the martyrs, who laid down their lives while protecting the nation, are considered the most valuable assets and heroes of the country. The IG stated that the force remains steadfast in its commitment and will never hesitate to make similar sacrifices in the future.
A tribute and prayer ceremony was held at the Yadgar-e-Shahuda of the Central Police Office, where IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, along with other officers, paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the Faisal Chowk incident. The ceremony commemorated the lives of DIG Captain (retd) Syed Ahmad Mobeen, SSP Zahid Gondal, ASI Muhammad Ameen, Head Constable Ismat ullah, and Constables Muhammad Aslam, Irfan Mehmood, and Nadeem Tanveer, who were among those who embraced martyrdom in the devastating attack.
