Lahore, The Central Police Office witnessed a significant occasion as 36 officers were ceremoniously promoted from the rank of Inspector to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), in a rank pinning ceremony presided over by Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. This ceremony marked a pivotal moment in the careers of the promoted officers, underscoring their roles in the operational framework and administration of the Punjab Police.
According to Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, during the ceremony, emphasized the critical role of DSPs in managing the police force at the circle level. He highlighted the dual importance of crime control and administrative efficiency as the hallmarks of a successful officer. Dr. Anwar urged the newly promoted DSPs to harness modern technology for crime control, administrative tasks, and enhancing the delivery of public services. He also stressed the importance of focusing on the capacity building, needs, and welfare of the subordinate force.
The ceremony saw the participation of families and children of the promoted officers, adding a personal touch to the professional milestone. The newly promoted DSPs spanned across various cadres, including 01 Legal and 35 Executive Cadre Inspectors, reflecting the diversity and comprehensive skill set within the Punjab Police force.
In his address, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar extended his congratulations to the new DSPs, encouraging them to embrace their supervisory responsibilities with dedication and integrity. He also paid tribute to the valorous jawans of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) who recently foiled a terrorist attack in Mianwali, acknowledging the continued bravery and resilience of the Punjab Police against terrorism.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials including Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gara, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Establishment Zeeshan Asghar, AIG Admin, AIG Discipline among others, signifying the collective support and acknowledgment of the promoted officers’ achievements and the challenges ahead.
