Punjab Police Celebrates Promotion of 266 ASIs in Lahore

Lahore: In a significant career milestone, 266 Head Constables of the Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) were promoted to Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) during a rank pinning ceremony at the Police Training College Lahore. This event marks a substantial development in the career paths of these officers and reflects the ongoing reforms and performance improvements within the Punjab Police under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar.

According to Punjab Police, the ceremony was a celebration of professional advancement and was attended by family members of the promoted officers, highlighting the personal achievements alongside their professional growth. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, who officiated the ceremony, emphasized the significant improvements in PHP’s operational efficiency and the impact of new promotion rules which have enabled these advancements.

Dr. Usman Anwar underscored the commitment to public service that comes with the new ranks, urging the promoted ASIs to dedicate themselves fully to the duties of providing justice and high-quality services at citizen service centers. He also noted the importance of the PHP’s role in crime eradication, traffic law enforcement, and public safety on highways, which have seen marked improvements over the past eighteen months.

The event also highlighted the broader strategy of incorporating modern technology and training within the PHP, including the introduction of body cameras for field personnel and enhanced training modules from the Elite Police.

The rank pinning ceremony not only recognized the individual achievements of the newly promoted ASIs but also served as a platform to reaffirm the leadership’s ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare, infrastructure, and effectiveness of the Punjab Police force.
