Punjab Police Captures High-Profile Fugitive at Lahore Airport

Lahore: In a significant operation, Punjab Police successfully apprehended a high-profile fugitive, Fateh Dad, who was attempting to escape the country from Allama Iqbal International Airport. The arrest marks a major achievement in the police’s ongoing efforts to crackdown on dangerous criminals.

According to Punjab Police, Fateh Dad, son of Mehndi Khan, was wanted in connection with two murder cases dating back to 2003 and 2008, involving four victims. The Punjab Home Department had previously announced a headmoney of 200,000 rupees for information leading to his capture. Having lived abroad for several years, Dad had recently updated his identity card, which was flagged in Interpol’s red notice system, aiding in his capture during his escape attempt.

The Special Operations Cell team of the Punjab Police made the arrest and subsequently handed the fugitive over to the Gujrat police for further legal action. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised the efforts of RPO Gujranwala Tayyab Hafeez Cheema and DPO Gujrat, acknowledging their persistence in pursuing the criminal after a prolonged period. Dr. Anwar has directed law enforcement to intensify efforts to apprehend other fugitives involved in Category A crimes, reinforcing the commitment to public safety and law enforcement in Punjab.
