Punjab Police Capture Notorious Fugitive in Saudi Arabia, Deport Him to Pakistan


Dera Ghazi Khan: In a significant development, Punjab Police have successfully intensified their ongoing crackdown on dangerous fugitives, resulting in the capture and deportation of a wanted criminal from Saudi Arabia. The criminal, identified as Jharoo, son of Gul Khan, was involved in the murder of two citizens during a dispute in Dera Ghazi Khan. He was apprehended with the assistance of Saudi Police and has now been brought back to Pakistan.



According to Punjab Police press release, Jharoo had been on the run for the past two years following the killings in the jurisdiction of Gadai Police Station in Dera Ghazi Khan. After fleeing the country, Punjab Police issued a red notice through Interpol, which eventually led to his arrest in Saudi Arabia. Upon his deportation, the Dera Ghazi Khan Police team took custody of the fugitive at the airport.



The Punjab Police spokesperson revealed that with Jharoo’s arrest, the total number of fugitives apprehended from abroad this year has risen to 66. Dr. Usman Anwar, Inspector General of Punjab Police, praised the diligent efforts of the police team involved in the operation. He underscored the importance of continuing the crackdown on other dangerous fugitives classified in the “A” category and emphasized strengthening cooperation with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Interpol to ensure more criminals are captured and face justice.
