Punjab Police Arrests Man for Blackmailing and Rape in Kasur, Aligning with Chief Minister’s Vision


Kasur, Punjab Police have apprehended a man accused of raping and blackmailing women, marking a significant step in the regional crackdown on violence against women. This arrest in Khudyan Khas Kasur comes as part of the Punjab Police’s dedication to the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for eradicating abuse and harassment of women in the province.



According to Punjab Police, Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted the force’s commitment to the protection of women across all districts, in line with the Chief Minister’s directives. The accused, identified as Yousuf, allegedly lured women into traps by contacting them over the phone, inviting them to his home where he would then film objectionable videos, rape them, and subsequently blackmail them for money. The case came to light following the circulation of one such video on social media, prompting immediate police action.



Under the direction of IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur Tariq Aziz spearheaded the operation that led to Yousuf’s arrest. In the aftermath, the suspect’s mobile phone was seized and sent for forensic analysis to aid in the ongoing investigation. A formal case has been registered against Yousuf as law enforcement continues to gather evidence against him.



IGP Anwar has publicly commended the Kasur police for their swift response in apprehending the accused, reiterating the Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance policy towards harassment, abuse, and violence against women. This arrest underscores the police’s proactive stance on such crimes and their alignment with the Chief Minister’s vision to ensure a safe and secure environment for women in Punjab.
