Punjab Police Arrests Fugitive in Murder Case from Saudi Arabia

Lahore: A major operation led by the Punjab Police has successfully resulted in the arrest of a fugitive, Imdad Hussain, wanted for murder and attempted murder since 2020. The arrest was made in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant achievement in the force’s ongoing crackdown on absconding criminals.

According to Punjab Police, under the leadership of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the operation involved coordination with Interpol to issue a red notice for Hussain, who had been a target of the Ferozewala Police in Sheikhupura. Following continuous follow-ups, the Saudi Arabian police detained the fugitive and handed him over to the Punjab Police team at the airport. This arrest brings the total number of fugitives apprehended from abroad this year to 50.

Dr. Usman Anwar commended the efforts of the police team involved and emphasized the need to intensify the crackdown on other high-risk fugitives. He also highlighted the importance of continued collaboration with Interpol and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to ensure that more offenders are captured and brought to justice in Pakistan.
