Punjab Police Arrest Two Proclaimed Offenders from Bahrain

Lahore, 16 Oct 2023: Under the guidance of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has escalated its crackdown on dangerous proclaimed offenders residing overseas. As per the Punjab Police spokesperson, two such offenders, Muhammad Sarwar, evading arrest for a murder charge by Sialkot Police for three years, and Muhammad Majid, on the run for a robbery case for five years by Toba Tek Singh Police, were arrested following red notices issued through Interpol. After their apprehension, both individuals were extradited to Pakistan and have since been turned over to their respective district police for subsequent actions. With these arrests, the tally of proclaimed offenders detained from overseas has risen to 125. Dr. Usman Anwar commended the efforts of the police teams and underscored the importance of adhering to legal protocols to ensure the culprits face justice. He further mandated an intensified crackdown on proclaimed offenders implicated in serious crimes and urged close collaboration with FIA, Interpol, and other relevant agencies.
