Punjab Police Arrest Murder Suspect at Airport, Thwarting Escape Abroad

Lahore: In a swift operation coordinated by the Punjab Police Special Operations Cell, a murder suspect was arrested at the airport as he attempted to flee the country. The arrest was part of a broader crackdown on dangerous criminals led by the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar.

According to Punjab Police, the suspect, identified as Jamshed Mohsin, was implicated in a murder case registered only two days prior at the Mangowal police station in Gujrat. Police had swiftly added his details to the PNIC list, which facilitated his capture during the airport’s verification process. Mohsin was preparing to leave the country when he was detained and has since been transferred to Gujrat police for further legal proceedings.

Dr. Usman Anwar commended the RPO Gujranwala and DPO Gujrat for their prompt action that led to the timely arrest. He has directed that the legal proceedings against Mohsin be expedited to ensure swift justice. Additionally, IG Punjab has emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Interpol to continue apprehending criminals involved in serious offenses.
