Punjab Police Apprehends Fugitive in UAE, Extradites to Pakistan for Murder Charge

Lahore, In a significant operation led by the Punjab Police, a fugitive involved in a kidnapping and murder case in Toba Tek Singh was arrested in the United Arab Emirates and subsequently extradited to Pakistan.

According to Punjab Police, the operation was executed under the directives of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar as part of an ongoing crackdown to apprehend dangerous criminals hiding abroad. The fugitive, Nadeem Ashraf, was wanted for a 2022 crime where he kidnapped and murdered a citizen in the Pir Mahal police jurisdiction of District Toba Tek Singh. After committing the crime, Ashraf fled to the UAE where he was located following the issuance of a red notice by Interpol. The extradition was completed after necessary legal procedures, marking a significant achievement in Punjab Police’s efforts to combat criminal activities.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the successful operation and urged for continued collaboration with Interpol, the Federal Investigation Agency, and other departments to bring more criminals to justice. This arrest is part of a broader strategy that has led to the arrest of 30 proclaimed offenders from abroad this year.
