Punjab Police Announces Landmark Promotions for Safe Cities Communication Officers

Karachi, In a significant development for the Punjab Police, Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has approved the first-ever departmental promotions for police communication officers at the Safe City Authority. This historic initiative marks a new chapter in the professional growth and welfare of the police force in the region.

According to Punjab Police, the promotions included 31 officers being elevated to Senior Communication Officers and 45 to Police Technical Officers. This decision, which breaks new ground in the history of the Safe Cities Authority, follows a comprehensive process adhering to departmental tests and regulations.

During a ranking ceremony held at the Central Police Office, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar personally awarded three-star badges to the newly promoted Senior Communication Officers and Senior Technical Officers. The event was attended by notable figures, including Additional IG Punjab, MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Yunus, Chief Operating Officer Captain Retired Mustansar Firoz, AIG Inspection Shaista Nadeem, among other officers.

Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the pivotal role played by these communication officers in the Safe City Authority, referring to them as the best human resource of the organization. He also announced that following their promotion, the salaries of these officers would be increased by 50,000 PKR per month. Furthermore, he disclosed plans to expand the scope of Safe Cities to 20 cities across the province, with the establishment of data centers in these cities.

The ceremony also included an address by MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Yunus, who shared his perspectives on this landmark initiative.
