Lahore: The Punjab Police has allocated Rs2.55 million for the medical treatment of children of police personnel suffering from severe illnesses, according to a press release from the department. This initiative, led by the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, aims to support the health needs of the families of police employees across the province.
The funds have been distributed as part of the department’s broader welfare initiative. Constable Muhammad Zeeshan Faqir was granted Rs1 million for his son’s bone marrow transplant, while Assistant Sub-Inspectors Arshad Hussain and Ghulam Fareed, in addition to the widow of the late ASI Muhammad Shafi and Constable Waseem Ahmad, each received Rs250,000 for their children’s medical treatments.
Further allocations included Rs200,000 each for Data Entry Operator Izhar-ul-Haq and Constable Sajjad Ahmad. Additionally, ASI Muhammad Naveed, Constable Muhammad Faryad, Constable Ameer Haider, and sanitary worker Muhammad Haroon collectively received Rs150,000.
The disbursement process underwent scrutiny and approval by the Welfare Management Committee. IG Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed senior officers to persist in their efforts to support police personnel and their families by effectively utilizing available resources.
