Punjab Police Allocates Record Funds for Employee Welfare Under IG Anwar’s Direction

Lahore: The Punjab Police, under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, has implemented extensive welfare measures for its employees and their families, marking a significant investment in the well-being of its workforce. The department has disbursed over 1.38 billion rupees in the first half of the year to support various aspects of employee welfare, including education, health, and family support.

According to Punjab Police, these welfare initiatives have included substantial financial assistance for education, with more than 50 crore rupees allocated for scholarships for children of police personnel. Additionally, 14.6 crore rupees have been provided for medical aid, and substantial sums have been designated for other significant life events and challenges faced by police families.

The breakdown of the welfare expenditure includes 32.69 crore rupees in wedding gifts for daughters of police employees, 12.3 million rupees for urgent financial assistance, and 37.9 million rupees to cover funeral expenses. Retiring employees have received farewell grants totaling 15.89 crore rupees, while 16.98 crore rupees have been distributed as maintenance allowances to families. Furthermore, families of fallen officers have received 15.5 million rupees for house construction, and officers facing legal issues have benefited from 8.7 million rupees in legal aid.

Dr. Anwar emphasized that these efforts are financed through the police welfare fund and departmental sources, affirming a commitment to continuously improve support for the police force and their families moving forward.
