Lahore: In a significant move to support the health welfare of police employees’ children, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has authorized the release of over 34 lakh rupees. The funds are designated for the treatment of children suffering from serious illnesses, benefiting employees stationed in Lahore and other districts.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, ASI Rizwan Yousaf of Lahore received 19 lakh 60 thousand rupees for a cochlear implant for his 2-year-old son. Additional grants of 2.5 lakh rupees each were allocated to Traffic Warden Zahid Mahmood, Head Constable Safdar Iqbal, and Driver Constable Gulzar Ahmad for their children’s medical treatment.
Constable Muhammad Imran was granted over 1 lakh 60 thousand rupees for his daughter’s hearing impairment treatment. Sub Inspector Muhammad Bilal from Pakpattan received 1.5 lakh rupees for the treatment of his 1-year-old son.
Further, Constable Rafaqat Ali from Lahore was awarded 1 lakh 43 thousand rupees, while Sub Inspector Hassnain Abbas of PHP and Sweeper Muhammad Yaseen from Hafizabad each received 75 thousand rupees for their children’s health care.
Other beneficiaries include Constables Waheed Noor, Hafeez Akram, Taqreem Akram, and Sanitary Worker Salamat Masih, who collectively received over 2 lakh rupees. Head Constable Atif Bashir, Constable Abdullah, and Assistant Supervisor Muhammad Imran were each granted over 1 lakh rupees.
The funds were distributed following the scrutiny and approval of the Welfare Management Committee, as stated by Dr. Usman Anwar. He emphasized the department’s commitment to enhancing resources for the education, health, and overall welfare of police employees and their families.
