Lahore: The Punjab Police, under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, is intensifying efforts to ensure the welfare of officers injured in the line of duty. As part of these efforts, additional financial resources have been allocated for the medical treatment of officers from Lahore, Sialkot, and Kasur who were injured while protecting the lives and property of citizens.
According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 27 September 2024, substantial sums have been granted to aid the recovery of these officers, with Constable Zafarullah from Sialkot receiving PKR 250,000, Head Constable Muhammad Nadeem from Kasur provided PKR 150,000, and Head Constable Muhammad Yaseen from Lahore allotted PKR 100,000.
IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has ordered regional police officers to reassess and resubmit cases of other injured personnel to ensure they receive necessary support swiftly. He emphasized that the quick recovery of injured officers remains a top priority, with the force committed to providing comprehensive health and welfare support. Dr. Anwar highlighted the dedication of over 1,700 “Ghazis”—officers who have been severely wounded in confrontations with criminals—stressing that their sacrifices are deeply valued by the force.
The move reflects Punjab Police’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding its members, acknowledging their bravery and ensuring they receive the support needed to recover and continue their service.
