Lahore, The Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has sanctioned Rs1.5 million to assist with the medical expenses of five police officials serving in different districts. This funding decision underscores the department’s commitment to the welfare of its officers.
According to Punjab Police, the allocation was made on the recommendation of the Compensation Award Committee, led by Additional IG Finance and Welfare Mohammad Riaz Nazir Gara. The committee reviewed and forwarded the cases to IG Punjab for approval. Traffic Warden Muhammad Irfan received Rs500,000 for burn injury treatment, PHP Constable Muhammad Khalid was granted Rs500,000 for an artificial leg, Constable Khurram Ali Shah got Rs300,000 for medical expenses, and Lahore police constable Khalid Hussain along with Nankana police Constable Tanveer Anjum each were given Rs100,000, for lung treatment.
Dr. Usman Anwar has emphasized the importance of continuing measures for the welfare and treatment of police personnel. In a related development, the IGP also congratulated Lahore Traffic Police Warden Dr. Majid Ali on completing his PhD in Urdu Literature. Dr. Anwar met with Dr. Ali at the Central Police Office, where the latter presented his PhD thesis. This interaction highlights the IGP’s support for educational achievements within the police force.
