Lahore: Faisal Ayub Khokhar, the Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources, visited the Punjab Social Security Head Office to oversee the department’s current operations and future initiatives.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, during his visit, Minister Khokhar was briefed by key officials from various branches including Labour and Human Resource, Labour Welfare, Punjab Social Security, and the Workers Welfare Funds. Attendees included Secretary Labour Naeem Ghaus, Commissioner Punjab Social Security Nadia Saqib, DG Labour Khalsum Hai, and Executive Officer Workers Welfare Board Tauqeer Elyas Cheema.
The Minister issued directives to establish daycare centers within factories for the children of female workers and stressed the importance of building Labour colonies for workers. He ordered the relevant departments to devise detailed plans within two days and to implement biometric systems to monitor attendance. Additionally, he called for immediate action against the presence of ghost employees in the system.
Emphasizing the need to enhance Human Resources for better registration and support of workers, Minister Khokhar committed to revising existing laws to promote worker welfare, aligning with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He assured that funds allocated for workers would be used exclusively for their benefit and underscored the non-negotiable dignity of labour.
