Punjab Minister Criticizes PPP for Playing Provincial Card: Azma Bokhari Responds to Sharjeel Memon

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for what she termed as their habitual strategy of playing the provincial card, expressing that the party takes offense when confronted with the truth.

According to a statement by Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Bokhari remarked on PPP’s governance in Sindh, pointing out that despite federal assistance, the province has struggled with issues like dysfunctional schools and inadequate public transportation. She specifically highlighted Karachi’s ongoing waste management issues over the past 16 years.

In response to a press conference by PPP’s Sharjeel Memon, Bokhari commented, “When we held up a mirror, they took offense. Playing the provincial card has always been their tactic.” She questioned PPP’s claims of non-political engagement, noting their frequent use of family references in political debates.

Bokhari further challenged PPP to compare its performance in Sindh over the past 16 years with Maryam Nawaz’s governance in Punjab over the last year. She suggested that to see examples of cleanliness and infrastructure, PPP members should visit Lahore.
