Punjab Launches Subsidized Green Tractor Scheme for Farmers

Lahore, The Punjab government has launched a Green Tractor Scheme aimed at subsidizing tractor purchases for farmers across the province. This initiative, directed by the Punjab Chief Minister, was announced during a meeting at Agriculture House Lahore, chaired by the Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the scheme will last one year and is designed to mechanize the entire process from manufacturing to delivery to ensure efficiency and quality. Under the scheme, farmers will be able to choose from small, medium, or large tractors, all painted green and bearing the label “Chief Minister Punjab Tractor Scheme.” This initiative is intended to bolster farm mechanization and uphold the high standards set by the Punjab Agriculture Department.

During the meeting, officials highlighted the importance of adhering to the specified SOPs in the production of the tractors to ensure they meet the required safety and performance standards. The scheme is expected not only to benefit farmers by making mechanization more accessible but also to provide a boost to the local tractor industry by increasing demand. Transparent processes for the delivery and receipt of tractors were emphasized, along with the assurance of no compromise on the quality of the tractors delivered under the scheme.
