Karachi, A delegation from the Punjab Information Technology Board embarked on a study and advisory visit to Baldia Uzma Karachi, exploring various departments within the municipal corporation on Thursday. The visit aimed to gather insights into the operational affairs of Karachi’s municipal departments, seeking to leverage technology for enhanced municipal services.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the delegation, led by Mirza Umar and Khalil Ahmed of the Punjab IT Board, engaged with department heads and officers, receiving briefings on the functions and challenges of the Municipal Services, Fire Brigade, Slum, State, Council, IT, Finance and Accounts, Information Printing and Media Management, Department of Land, HRM, and other departments. Finance Advisor of Baldia Uzma Karachi, Imtiaz Abro, was also present, contributing to the discussions.

The two-day visit will culminate in a comprehensive report by the Punjab IT Board delegation, outlining recommendations for the integration of modern technology in Karachi Municipal Corporation’s operations. The initiative is expected to address existing challenges and enhance the quality of municipal services offered to Karachi’s citizens. The delegation’s itinerary also includes visits to various locales within the city, further enriching their assessment and recommendations.

Islamabad, The Pakistan Navy’s Command and Staff Conference, a pivotal gathering for strategic deliberations, has recently concluded at the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad. Presided over by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, the conference focused on assessing the maritime situation in the North Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden, alongside evaluating the safety and security measures for Pakistan-bound shipping.



According to Pakistan Navy, the conference served as a platform to discuss a broad spectrum of issues, including the geo-strategic environment, national security, operational readiness, personnel training, and the welfare of troops. A detailed briefing on ongoing and future developmental projects of the Pakistan Navy was also presented, underscoring the force’s commitment to enhancing its capabilities and infrastructure.



Admiral Ashraf underscored the imperative of bolstering maritime security and ensuring the naval force’s combat readiness to deter any potential threats to Pakistan’s sovereignty. He advocated for the acquisition of advanced and innovative capabilities, leveraging indigenous resources to navigate the complexities of contemporary maritime challenges. The Naval Chief commended the execution of the major Maritime Exercise SEA SPARK-2024 and the successful live weapon firing of the Surface to Air Missile FM-90B, demonstrating the operational efficiency and preparedness of the Pakistan Navy in protecting the nation’s maritime interests.



The conference highlighted the strategic deployments of naval assets in the North Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Bay of Bengal, reflecting the Navy’s proactive stance in maintaining regional maritime security. The Command and Staff Conference, as the apex decision-making body of the Pakistan Navy, plays a critical role in shaping the naval strategy and policies, ensuring the force remains a robust and vigilant guardian of Pakistan’s maritime frontiers.
