Punjab Interior Department Establishes Control Room Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Lahore, In preparation for Eid al-Adha, the Punjab Interior Department has established a central control room within the Civil Secretariat to ensure compliance with government directives and maintain law and order throughout the holiday period. The control room will operate around the clock, compiling reports from across the region.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the newly established control room will monitor activities province-wide, ensuring the enforcement of government orders during Eid al-Adha. Among the directives issued, banned organizations are prohibited from collecting sacrificial animal skins. Only charities registered with the Charity Commission are permitted to collect these. Additionally, the Punjab Interior Department has enacted Section 144 to prohibit activities such as burning incense in public places, bathing and boating in rivers, canals, and dams, and the disposal of animal waste and garbage into manholes or canals during the Eid holidays.

Further safety measures include the ban on temporary swings and rotating mechanical installations in streets, aimed at protecting public safety. However, permanent swings in parks that comply with all safety regulations and have valid legal fitness certificates will remain operational. The department has also instructed local police and administrative bodies to prevent unauthorized cattle markets and enhance security at Eid gatherings to ensure public safety across Punjab.
