Lahore, September 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed performance of Punjab Institute of Mental Health and its upgradation at the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Wednesday. Present in the meeting were Additional Secretary SH and ME Dr. Asif Tufail, Additional Secretary Dr. Salman Shahid, Executive Director Punjab Institute of Mental Health Dr. Ashraf, Mian Zahidur Rehman, Professor Javed Chaudhry, Professor Dr. Ali Hashmi, Chief Engineer C and W and other officials. Additional Secretary Dr. Asif Tufail gave briefing to the Health Minister on the upgradation of Institute of Mental Health.

The Health Minister said, “Punjab Institute of Mental Health shall be made a teaching institute. Over 1000 patients in the PIMH are being provided free treatment and diagnostic facilities. The PIMH is being fully revamped and it will be made an autonomous organization. The shortage of staff including 26 male nurses shall be fulfilled. All patients admitted in the Punjab Institute of Mental Health are given treatment conducive environment.”
