Gujrat: A tragic incident at a private college in Gujrat, where a guard was fatally electrocuted during a student protest, has prompted swift action from Punjab’s top police official, Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar. The IG has demanded a comprehensive investigation into the events leading to the guard’s death and called for the immediate arrest of those involved in the protest’s violent acts.

According to Punjab Police, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has requested a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer of Gujranwala on the circumstances surrounding the incident. He has also directed the District Police Officer of Gujrat to thoroughly investigate the case, including the actions leading to the electrocution. The DPO confirmed that the student responsible for pushing the guard, resulting in his fatal accident, is already in police custody.

Dr. Anwar emphasized the necessity of understanding all facets of the incident to prevent such occurrences in the future and to ensure that justice is served promptly for the victim and his family.
