Punjab IG Awards Dera Ghazi Khan SHO for Exceptional Border Defense

Karachi, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, in a commendable gesture, recognized the outstanding efforts of Sub-Inspector Sadiq Hussain, SHO of Dera Ghazi Khan’s border police station Wahwa, for his exceptional defense of the provincial border. Dr. Anwar awarded a certificate of appreciation and a cash reward to Hussain, in a ceremony that also included a personal meeting with Hussain’s son, Ehsan Sadiq.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar lauded the vigilant and steadfast performance of Hussain and his team. He emphasized that the police officers serving at the border check posts are the true heroes of the Punjab Police, vowing that there will be no shortage of measures to encourage these brave and committed officials.

In his remarks, Dr. Anwar shed light on the strategic importance of the four border check posts managed by the Wahwa Police Station, including Lakhani, Jhangi, Triman, and Natkani, located on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border. These posts, under constant threat from terrorism, play a crucial role in ensuring the region’s safety. Dr. Anwar highlighted the team’s success in repelling several infiltration attempts by terrorists, thereby maintaining peace in the area.

Further, Dr. Anwar instructed SHO Hussain to continue performing his duties with the same dedication and spirit. He emphasized the importance of uninterrupted operations and activities against anti-social elements that pose a threat to the lives and property of the people.

This recognition by the IG Punjab is a significant acknowledgement of the challenges faced by police personnel in sensitive border areas and serves as an inspiration for other officers in the force.
