Punjab Highway Patrol Reports Arrests and Recoveries in November Performance Review

Lahore: The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has released its performance report for November 2024, highlighting its ongoing efforts to maintain law and order on the province’s highways. The report details various operations conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar.

According to Punjab Police, PHP teams utilized the e-Police Post App to check 2.9 million individuals, resulting in the arrest of 610 proclaimed offenders and court absconders. The teams also inspected 1.3 million vehicles, recovering 272 stolen vehicles and motorcycles. Legal actions were taken against 25,588 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load standards. Additionally, PHP addressed the use of illegal gas cylinders in 1,035 vehicles and issued 7,630 driving licenses.

The report further notes the PHP’s efforts in reuniting 31 missing children with their families and removing 291 encroachments to improve traffic flow. Assistance was provided to 10,278 travelers, and 13,781 citizens received various police services at the Police Service Centers. PHP registered 62 cases related to illegal weapons, and significant quantities of alcohol and drugs were seized from dealers.

The Inspector General praised the PHP for its work, urging continued dedication to ensure traffic safety and citizen protection.
